Preparing young people to build, serve, and lead

Poema Institute equips young people ages 14 to 18 with an entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills in AI applications, business planning, and personal finance, grounded in Christian values.

“For we are his workmanship (poiēma), created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” Ephesians 2:10

Our mission

We help teenagers think like founders: to see real needs, create value, steward money wisely, and build useful things, with character formed by a Christian classical education.

What we do

Our programs

Poema Institute runs two programs: a free online learning program for students, and books and articles for their parents.

Poema Academy

A free, self-paced online program for high-school-age students that supplements homeschooling, in the Christian Classical Liberal Arts tradition plus entrepreneurship. Students read carefully chosen texts, guided by AI tutors and overseen by our director.

Books & Articles for Parents

Articles and books by Dr. Ping that help parents understand how their children learn, guide them through high school at home, and prepare them for the AI age.

Why it matters

In the AI age, builders will thrive

Artificial intelligence is changing work quickly. Many entry-level jobs will be harder to find, while the tools to start a business have never been cheaper or more powerful. A young person who can spot a real need, plan carefully, handle money honestly, and put AI to work will have opportunities that a résumé alone cannot open.

We believe the best preparation is a Christian Classical Liberal Arts education joined to practical entrepreneurship: learning to think clearly, write well, reason mathematically, and act with integrity, then putting those gifts to work in serving others.

What students gain

  • An entrepreneurial mindset: seeing problems as opportunities to serve.
  • Practical skills: AI applications, business plans, and personal finance.
  • Sound thinking: mathematics, logic, literature and composition.
  • Character: stewardship, honesty and diligence, grounded in Christian values.

From our founder

Dr. Pingnan Shi (Dr. Ping), founder of Poema Institute

“In the AI age it will be harder to get a job, but easier to start a business. I believe a Christian Classical Liberal Arts education is the best preparation for it.”
